Pour Over Coffee with a Hario V60

Bean Basics S1 E6: The AeroPress

| Bob Fish

By Michelle Fish

There’s only one way to make a shot of real espresso. It involves very expensive equipment, and it’s probably best left to your favorite coffee shop. We hope that’s BIGGBY Coffee. If you haven’t tried it, you can find your nearest location here.

That’s because espresso is made by forcing hot water through finely ground coffee under very high pressure. You need a machine to do that right.

But you can get pretty close to the feel, flavor and richness of espresso through a variety of “cheater’s” methods. Bob has already shown you one: The Bialetti 3 Cup Moka Express, otherwise known as the Moka Pot.

The fastest and easiest, though, is arguably the AeroPress. It takes just 70 seconds to produce a delicious shot. And the best part is, it takes even less time than that to clean up!

In this episode of Bean Basics, Bob shows you the pro tips for making your best “cheater’s” espresso, Americano and Latte, with the AeroPress. From our kitchen in sunny Saugatuck to yours.

The following links are provided for your convenience in case you are interested in purchasing any of the equipment featured in this episode.

BIGGBY Coffee is available at all cafe locations, or you can buy direct from BIGGBY online here or through Amazon here.
